THIS IS STAFF TIME SCHEDULES.

THE REVISION THIS EVENING, REFLECTS CHANGES TO THE VIRGINIA CODE, 40.1-22.

THERE'S ALSO CHANGES DUE TO THE 2021 BUDGET BILL.

YOU COULD SEE THE CHANGES ARE PRIMARILY ON PAGE 2.

THE RULE IS THAT NONEXEMPT EMPLOYEES WHOSE WORKWEEK IS LESS THAN 40 HOURS PER WEEK, ARE PAID FOR THEIR REGULAR TIME OF PAY FOR TIME UP TO 40 HOURS PER WEEK AND AFTER THAT, THEY WILL EARN OVERTIME PAY.

NEXT POLICY IS G.A.B.

THIS IS RESPONSIBLE COMPUTER SYSTEM USE.

WE DO HAVE SOME STATUTORY CHANGES HERE, BUT PRIMARILY, THE CHANGES WERE MADE TO CORRECT APCS PRACTICE.

ONE OF THE MAIN CHANGES WE MADE, WE HAVE MERGED SOME OF THE CONTENT FROM THE ACCOMPANYING REGULATION BECAUSE IN REVIEWING THIS, WE REALIZED THAT THE REGULATION THAT WAS ALWAYS FILED AS ACCOMPANYING THIS POLICY, IS NOT REALLY A REGULATION.

IT'S JUST A DOCUMENT THAT EMPLOYEES SIGN.

IT'S THEIR USE AGREEMENT.

IT REALLY DOESN'T BELONG TO IT, TO BE CATEGORIZED AS A REGULATION.

WE'RE PROPOSING IT FOR DELETTION.

WE MADE NOTE THAT STAFF HAS AN AGREEMENT THEY SIGNED FOR USING APCS COMPUTER SYSTEM AND STUDENTS ZA AN AGREEMENT THEY SIGN.

AND WE REALIZE IN LOOKING SOME OF THE DOCUMENTS THEY READ AS THOUGH STUDENTS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS EMPLOYEE USAGE AGREEMENT.

IT'S A BIT CONFUSING.

WE ARE TRYING TO CLEAN IT UP.

THE USAGE AGREEMENTS THAT THE EMPLOYEES AND STUDENTS SIGN REALLY DON'T BELONG IN POLICY.

THOSE CHANGE FROM YEAR TO YEAR, AS THE APLIKICATIONS CHANGE.

EVEN THE CHANGE LAST YEAR, WHEN STUDENTS TOOK HOME COMPUTERS EVERY SINGLE NIGHT.

WE DON'T WANT TO PUT IT IN POLICY.

THOSE ARE THE MAIN CHANGES WE MADE THERE.

NEXT POLICY IS GBA, JFHA.

THIS IS A POLICY THAT ARE FAMILIAR.

THEY MADE A LOT OF CHANGES, RELATED TO TITLE 9.

THERE HAS BEEN A CHAME IN THE LAW, AND THIS REQUIRES SCHOOL DIVISIONS TO HAVE POLICIES RELATED TO OR PROHIBITING A WORK ENVIRONMENT.

WE REALLY ALREADY HAD THAT LANGUAGE.

AND WE ARE ACTUALLY REQUIRED NOW TO USE THE TERMINOLOGY ADDED IN THEIR ABUSIVE WORK ENVIRONMENT.

THERE WERE CHANGES TO THE LAW IN 2018 AND 2021.

I BELIEVE THE REQUIREMENT CAME INTO EFFECT AND THEN THE SUBSEQUENT CHANGE WAS TO INCLUDE SPECIFIC DEFINITIONS.

SO YOU SEE THE DEFINITIONS IN THERE AND WE'VE ADDED THE PROHIBITION BUT IT'S JUST EXPANDING TO THE PROHIBITION WE ALREADY HAD.

NEXT WE MOVE TO REGULATION, GBR AND ACCOMPANYING REGULATION TO THE POLICY

WE NEED TO UPDATE THE LANGUAGE AS WELL.

NEXT POLICY IS GCG, PROFESSIONAL STAFF PROBATION TERM AND CONTINUING CONTRACT.

THIS CHANGE IN THE LAW IS TO 22.1-303.

THIS MAY LOOK FAMILIAR.

WE MAY DISCUSS THIS IN A WORK SESSION LAST YEAR.

IS IT NEVER MADE IT BEHIND, DUE TO THE PANDEMIC AND SHIFTING BOARD AGENDAS AND NEEDING TO, YOU KNOW, BE FLEXIBLE AND PIVOT AND ADDRESS MORE URGENT MATTERS.

AND THE CHANGE IN THE LAW, SCHOOL DIVISIONS NO LONGER HAVE AN OPTION TO EXTEND A TEACHER'S PROBATIONAL TERM OF SERVICE FOR TWO ADDITIONAL YEARS.

AND THE OTHER TERM IS THE SECOND PARAGRAPH.

SCHOOL INDIVIDUALS WERE PREVIOUSLY PROHIBITED FROM REEMPLOYING A TEACHER WHO HAD AN UNSATISFACTORY EVALUATION WITHIN THEIR PROBATION TERM AND NOW THAT'S SOME PROGRESSION IN THE DIVISION.

NEXT POLICY IS GCM PROFESSIONAL STAFF ANNUAL EVALUATIONS.

THE CHANGES ARE MOSTLY ON PAGE 2.

THESE WILL PROBABLY LOOK FAMILIAR TO YOU AS WELL, BECAUSE IN PREVIOUS WORK SESSIONS, WE DISCUSSED THE FACT, THAT EVALUATIONS OF CULTURAL COMPETENCY, MOVING FORWARD, DUE TO STATUTORY CHANGES.

THIS IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE THEY OFTEN MAKE CHANGES.

THE MOST RECENT CHANGE IS THE ADDITION OF A DISCUSSION OF AGE-APPROPRIATE DISCUSSION OF FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION, WHEN APPROPRIATE AT DIFFERENT LEVELS OF THE PROGRAM.

THERE IS A CHANGE IN THE LAW, THAT REQUIRED NOT JUST TO HAVE THE POLICY, BUT ALSO TO REFLECT THAT AS PART OF THE STUDENT'S ACADEMIC AND CLEAR PLAN.

THE STATE PROVIDES US EVERY YEAR, AND THIS IS INTERESTING THAT THIS WOULD BE A RIRM.

THE STATE DOES PROVIDE EVERY YEAR, A LIST OF THE TOP 100 PROFESSIONS IN THE COMMONWEALTH BY MEDIUM PAY AND EDUCATION, TRAINING AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCH PROFESSION AND THE TOP TEN DEGREE PROGRAMS OF INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN THE COMMONWEALTH.

WE WANT OUR SECONDARY STUDENTS, PARTICULARLY TO BE INFORMED ON WHAT THEIR OPTIONS ARE, HELP THEM DECIDE WHAT CAREER FIELDS TO GO INTO, HELP THEM GET THE INFORMATION THAT ARE RELEVANT AND HELPING THEM MAKE THE DECISIONS, WHETHER IT'S GOING INTO THE UNIVERSITY, GOING INTO A CAREER STRAIGHT AFTER HIGH

SCHOOL, AND THAT'S REQUIRED INFORMATION THAT THE STAT PROVIDES AND THEN WE REQUIRE IT FOR OUR STUDENTS.

SO THOSE TWO ARE RECOMMENDED TO BE MERGED.

IT ALSO REFLECTS SOME CHANGES IN THE CODE.

THE SEX OFFENDER AND CRIMES AGAINST MINORS REGISTRY, THERE'S SOME CHANGES IN THE NUMBER OF OFFENDERS, AND THERE'S CHANGES, SO IT ALIGNS IN THE NUMBER OF CLASSIFICATIONS IN FEDERAL LAW.

WE ALSO UPDATED SOME OF OUR ACPS SPECIFIC INFORMATION, ABOUT THE SAFETY AND SECURITY SERVICES.

AND SIMILAR CHANGES IN THE ASSOCIATED REGULATION, WHICH IS KNR.

WE'VE UPDATED THAT TO REFLECT THE CURRENT ACS PRACTICE AND PROCEDURES.

FOR INSTANCE, WE NO LONGER USE THE KEEP IN TRACK MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.

WE MOVED TO A DIFFERENT SYSTEM AND WE WANTED TO MAKE SURE, THAT WHEN OUR SCHOOL STAFF MEMBERS, ARE LOOKING AT THE REGULATIONS WE'RE PROVIDING THEM WITH THE MOST UP-TO-DATE INFORMATION, FOR INSTANCE, IF AN OFFENDER IS FLAGGED BY THE VISITOR MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, IT DOESN'T SEND THE VISITOR A NOTIFICATION.

IT SENDS THE NOTIFICATION TO THE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL AND FRONT OFFICE STAFF AND PARTICULARLY, SOME MEMBERS IN THE OFFICE LEVEL AS WELL.

THOSE ARE THE STATUTORY CHANGES.

WE HAVE -- WE WILL PROCEED THIS EVENING WITH THE LAST TWO POLICIES IN OUR GROUPING OF STUDENT DISCIPLINE AND CONDUCT POLICIES THAT WE BEGAN REVIEWING WITH THE BOARD, A FEW WEEKS AGO AND ACTUALLY WENT THROUGH SOME OF THE RED LINES LAST WEEK.

WE HAVE TWO MORE POLICIES AND TWO MORE AFFILIATED REGULATIONS IN THE POLICY GROUPING AND THAT REPRESENTS THE CULMINATION OF THE FIRST SCHOOL BOARD COMMITTEES WORK, THE FIRST ROTATION OF THE COMMITTEE.

AND IF WE JUMP RIGHT IN, WE HAVE POLICY JFC, STUDENT CONDUCT AND THE AFFILIATED REGULATION.

AND I MAY JUST WALK THROUGH THE POLICIES WITH YOU.

WE'VE TRIED TO IN GENERAL REALLY CLEAN THE POLICIES UP.

SOME HAVE NOT BEEN REVIEWED THOROUGHLY IN A WHILE.

SO WE REALLY TRIED TO STRESS THAT WE, WHEN WE ARE APPROACHING A DISCUSSION ON STUDENT CONDUCT, WE WANT TO FIRST REALLY COMMUNICATE WHAT KIND OF CONDUCT WE ARE LOOKING TO ESTABLISH WITHIN ACPS.

NOT JUST HAVE A LAUNDRY LIST OF THINGS, STUDENTS ARE GOING TO BE PUNISHED FOR.
