Policies--Title IX (Documents to be uploaded 4/5/2021)] WE HAVE 8 POLICIES TO REVIEW THEY ARE FROM THE E-POLICIES WHICH ARE OUR SUPPORT SERVICES POLICIES. YOU€™LL SEE AS WE GO THROUGH THESE PROPOSED REVISIONS, THEY ARE MOSTLY MINOR TEXTUAL REVISIONS DRIVEN BY THE 5 YEAR MANDATORY REVIEW PERIOD, REVIEW CYCLE OR SOME MINOR STATUTORY REVISIONS. AS I SAID AS WE, AS YOU GO THROUGH THESE SUPPORT SERVICES POLICIES, YOU€™LL SEE THAT THEY COVER QUITE A BROAD RANGE OF DIFFERENT SUBJECT AREAS THAT RELATE TO SAFETY AND SECURITY. OUR FIRST POLICY TO REVIEW TONIGHT IS E-B-A-A, REPORTING OF HAZARDS. THIS POLICY WAS LAST REVIEWED IN 2009 SO IT IS WELL PAST ITS 5 YEAR REVIEW DATE. IT DISCUSSES STAFF MEMBERS HOW THEY ARE TO REPORT DANGEROUS CONDITIONS THAT THE OFFICE OF SAFETY AND SECURITY SERVICES IS THE DESIGNEE FOR OVERSIGHT REGARDING EVALUATION AND LABELING OF TOXIC MATERIALS. AND THERE IS A SENTENCE ADDED AT THE END MERELY TO CLARIFY THE PROCEDURE, WHO TO REPORT TO AND WHAT THE PROCESS IS. YOU WILL NOTE THAT AT THE TOP THERE IS A RECOMMENDATION TO CROSS REFERENCE THIS POLICY AS A PERSONNEL POLICY AS WELL. YOU WILL SEE THAT AS A THEME GOING THROUGH SOME OF THESE POLICIES THIS EVENING. THAT IS SOMETHING NEW THAT I€™M RECOMMENDING TO MAKE OUR POLICIES EASIER TO LOCATE, PARTICULARLY ANY OF THESE POLICIES THAT ACTUALLY DIRECT ACTION ON THE PART OF STAFF. MY RECOMMENDATION IS THAT THEY ARE ALSO CROSS-REFERENCED AS PERSONELL POLICY. THE NEXT POLICY TO REVIEW IS E-B-A-B. THIS IS POSSIBLE EXPOSURE TO VIRAL INFECTIONS. THIS POLICY WAS LAST REVIEWED IN 2016, IT HAS HIT ITS 5 YEAR REVIEW CYCLE THAT THERE ARE ALSO SOME STATUTORY AMENDMENTS INVOLVED HERE TO VIRIGINA CODE 32.1-45.1 AS WELL AS TO 22.1-271.3. NOW THIS POLICY REVIEWS THE PROCEDURES THAT ACPS FOLLOWS WHEN A STAFF MEMBER HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN A POSSIBLE EXPOSURE PRONE INCIDENT WHICH MAY HAVE EXPOSED THE STAFF MEMBER TO THE BLOOD OR BODY FLUIDS OF A STUDENT. IT ALSO DISCUSSES SITUATIONS WHERE AN EMPLOYEE HAS BEEN DIRECTLY EXPOSED TO THE BODY FLUIDS OF A PERSON IN A WAY THAT MAY TRANSMIT HIV OR HEPATITIS B OR C ACCORDING TO CDC GUIDELINES. THE POLICY THEN FURTHER DISCUSSES THAT COURTS HAVE JURISDICTION TO ISSUE ORDERS REQUIRING PERSONS WHOSE BODILY FLUIDS WERE INVOLVED IN THE EXPOSURE TO PROVIDE A BLOOD SPECIMEN, TO SUBMIT TO TESTING, TO DISCLOSE THE RESULTS, THERE€™S SOME LANGUAGE IN HERE DISCUSSING CONFIDENTIALITY REQUIREMENTS REGARDING STUDENT INFORMATION IT BASICALLY WALKS THROUGH THE PROCEDURES INVOLVED WHEN THERE IS A POSSIBLE EXPOSURE. AND AGAIN YOU€™LL NOTE AT THE TOP THIS IS RECOMENDED FOR CROSS REFERENCING AS A G POLICY BECAUSE IT DOES DIRECT STAFF MEMBER ACTION. THE NEXT POLICY IS E-B-B-A. THIS WAS PREVIOUSLY TITLED FIRST AID CPR CERTIFIED PERSONNEL. THE NEW RECOMMENDATION JUST SORT OF KEEPING UP WITH THE TIMES HERE IS TO TITLE IT EMERGENCY FIRST AID, CPR AND AED CERTIFIED PERSONNEL. THAT IS REFERRING TO AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATORS. THIS IS ALSO RECOMMENDED FOR CROSS-REFERENCING AS IT DIRECTS THE ACTIONS OF STAFF MEMBERS. THERE HAVE BEEN SOME MINOR UPDATES SINCE IT HAS BEEN 5, MORE THAN 5 YEARS NOW, 6 YEARS SINCE IT WAS LAST REVIEWED. THERE HAS BEEN ONE TEXTUAL CHANGE IN THE FINAL PARAGRAPH TO BRING IT IN LINE WITH VIRGINIA CODE 22.1-274. THE NEXT POLICY IS E-B-B-B-. THAT IS PERSONNEL TRAINING FOR VIRAL INFECTIONS AND I SHOULD POINT OUT THAT YOU€™LL SEE AT THE BEGINNING OUR FIRST POLICY WAS REPORTING OF HAZARDS THEN WE PIVOTED REMEMBER I MENTIONED AT THE BEGINNING SAFETY AND SECURITY, THESE [00:05:02] E-POLICIES COVER A BROAD RANGE, WE STARTED OUT WITH REPORTING OF HAZARDS. GENERALLY, NOW WE€™VE HAD A FEW POLICIES THAT DISCUSS HEALTH RELATED SECURITY CONCERNS, WE HAVE ANOTHER ONE HERE, PERSONNEL TRAINING FOR VIRAL INFECTIONS. THERE€™S ONE MINOR CHANGE HERE IN THE LAST SENTENCE JUST TO BRING THE LANGUAGE IN-LINE WITH THE STATUTORY REFERENCE HERE AT THE BOTTOM. AND THEN OUR NEXT POLICY WILL PIVOT AGAIN WITHIN THE AREA OF SAFETY AND SECURITY AND NOW WE€™RE TALKING ABOUT SCHOOL BUS SAFETY. SO THIS POLICY IS E-E-A-C. IT WAS LAST REVIEWED IN 2015. SO IT IS BEING REVIEWED DUE TO ITS 5 YEAR MANDATORY REVIEW CYCLE AND ALSO A MINOR CHANGE TO THE CODE OF VIRGINIA 46.2-919.1. THAT CHANGE IS REFLECTED IN THE FINAL SENTENCE OF THE POLICY. THE LANGUAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED TO ALLOW THAT IT€™S NOT ONLY 2-WAY RADIOS THAT ARE PERMITTED BUT ALSO WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATION DEVICES AS LONG AS THEY ARE AUTHORIZED BY ACPS TO BE USED IN A HANDS-FREE MANNER TO ALLOW LIVE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE SCHOOL BUS DRIVER AND THE SCHOOL OR PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICIALS. SO THAT LANGUAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED. NEXT POLICY, E-E-A-C-C. WE ARE STILL IN THE AREA OF SCHOOL BUS SAFETY. THIS POLICY WAS LAST REVIEWED IN 2015. THE RECOMMENDATION FOR THIS POLICY IS TO MERELY MERGE IT WITH POLICY J-F-C-C. WHICH IS STUDENT CONDUCT ON SCHOOL BUSES AND AT BUS STOPS. THIS PARTICULAR POLICY WAS ACTUALLY DELETED BY VSPA IN 2009 TO PREVENT OVERLAP WITH THAT J POLICY. BOTH POLICIES CONTAIN THE SAME LANGUAGE. THERE€™S NO NEED ANYMORE TO MAINTAIN 2 SEPARATE POLICIES WE JUST WANT TO MERGE THE 2. NEXT ONE IS E-E-A-D. SPECIAL USE OF SCHOOL BUSES. ONE VERY MINOR CHANGE THERE YOU€™LL SEE IN THE FINAL PARAGRAPH JUST FOR CONSISTENCY SAKE AND THE CROSS REFERENCES HAVE BEEN UPDATED, IT IS BEING REVIEWED ACCORDING TO ITS 5 YEAR REVIEW CYCLE. AND THERE ARE JUST SOME MINOR UPDATES TO MAKE SURE THAT THE LANGUAGE IS CURRENT FOR INSTANCE IN THE STATUTE THE MENTION OF LASER DISCS IS NOW INCLUDED TO UPDATE THE TECHNOLOGY THAT IS REFERNCED AND ALSO OUR DEPARTMENT OF CURRICULM AND INSTRUCTION IS NOW CALLED THE DEPARTMENT OF TEACHING, LEARNING AND LEADERSHIP SO THAT UPDATE HAS BEEN MADE AS WELL.
