I'M GOING TO CALL THE MEETING TO ORDER.

[Welcome/Call to Order]

[00:00:02]

I WOULD LIKE TO CALL THE MEETING TO ORDER AT 402 FAIR AND IMPARTIAL TIM P.M.

WELCOME, EVERYONE.

THANK YOU FOR GIANELLIINGS US.

BEFORE WE GET TO THE APPROVAL OF THE PRIOR MEETING MINUTES, I HAVE ANOTHER ASK.

IT'S A CONSISTENT ASK AT THIS POINT FOR THIS YEAR IF SOMEONE WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER TO BE OUR RECORDER/SECRETARY FOR THIS MEETING AND I PROMISE BY THE NEXT MEETING WE'LL ALREADY HAVE SOMEONE SET UP TO DO SO.

IT'S STILL A POSSIBILITY IF WE COULD GET A TRANSCRIPT AND THEN CLEAN IT UP.

IT MIGHT BE MORE WORK AT THE END OF THE DAY BUT IF NOTHING ELSE WOULD IT SUFFICE BEING ABLE TO SEND YOU A DRAFT MINUTE RIGHT AWAY? AND THEN WITNESS-3 WE'D GO BACK AND UPDATE.

>> I'LL TAKE MINUTES AND THEN WE CAN PLAY AROUND WITH THAT AS A PLAN B.

>> OKAY.

THANK YOU.

I'M GOING TO SHARE MY SCREEN AND PULL UP THE AGENDA SO EVERYONE CAN FOLLOW ALONG.

CAN EVERYONE SEE? THE AGENDA AND I KNOW DR. JACOBS SENT OVER THIS ALONG WITH THE MEETING

MINUTES AHEAD OF TIME SO HOPEFULLY EVERYONE >> NOT THAT IN THEIR INBOX.

SO THE FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS IS TO, AGAIN, ADOPT THE OR APPROVE THE OCTOBER MEETING MINUTES AND I'LL PULL THAT UP HERE AS WELL.

>> MOTION TO ATHE OCTOBER MEETING MINUTES.

>> SECOND.

>> ALL RIGHT.

MEETING MINUTES ARE APPROVED.

>> WE GOT TO DO ALL IN FAVOR.

>> ALL IN FAVOR.

>> AYE.

>> AYE.

>> THANK YOU.

THE MEETING MINUTES ARE APPROVED.

>> YES?

>> OKAY.

SO THE NEXT ORDER OF BUSINESS THEN IS TO TAKE A LOOK AT OUR SCOPE OF WORK AND JUST GO THROUGH THE DIFFERENT LINE ITEMS JUST TO MAKE SURE THAT WE'RE STILL ON TRACK SO I WILL PULL THAT UP.

ARE BEING WORKED ON TO VIRGINIA TECH.

>> OKAY.

THANK YOU, DR. JACOBS.

>> ALL RIGHT.

[Adoption of Meeting Agenda/Approval of October Meeting Minutes]

SO THE SECOND ONE SEX PLAYERING THE SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE TO CTE STUDENTS AND FOR THIS ONE, DR. JACOBS AND I HAVE ACTUALLY TALKED ABOUT IN PARTICULAR HAVING MARY ROMAN FROM THE ROTARY CLUB LOOK TO HER TO LOOK INTO

[Old Business and Action Items]

GETTING SOME SORT OF CTE SCHOLARSHIP PRESENTATION AND DR. JACOBS, I THINK IT WAS LAST YEAR AT SOME POINT YOU MENTIONED THAT YOU HAD ATTENDED A ROTARY CLUB ARE SCHOLARSHIP FUNCTION AND YOU HAD RECOGNIZED THAT NONE OF OUR CTE STUDENTS EVEN KNEW ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY OR HAD BEEN NOMINATED OR GIVEN A SCHOLARSHIP AND IT WAS PROBABLY AN OPPORTUNITY SO THAT IS SOMETHING THAT WE'RE LOOKING INTO AS IT PERTAINS TO WHAT WE'VE TALKED ABOUT IN THE THE PAST WITH SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AND MAKING SURE THAT OUR CTE STUDENTS KNOW AND ARE AWARE OF ALL

[00:05:50]

THE DIFFERENT OPPORTUNITIES OUT THERE.

>> MELISSA, I HAVE A QUESTION.

>> YES.

>> AND MY QUESTION WOULD BE IS RECOGNIZING THAT OUR NEXT MEETING WOULD BE SOMETIME IN MARCH I'M WONDERING WHEN THE ROTARY CLUB ACTUALLY OPENS UP THEIR SCHOLARSHIP PROCESS.

>> THEY'RE HERE TODAY TO EXPLAIN THAT WHOLE PROCESS TO US.

>> AWESOME.

THANK YOU.

>> BEFORE WE GO ON, SUSAN, LINDA DID NOT GET THE LINK.

SHE JUST TEXTED ME.

>> I'M HERE NOW.

I WAS ABLE TO FIND IT IN THE INVITATION.

THERE WAS JUST -- IT JUST SAID CLICK HERE TO JOIN AND SO I WAS ABLE TO JOIN.

SO SORRY ABOUT THAT.

>> OKAY.

>> IF YOU'RE USING TRISHA'S LINK THOUGH YOU ALL SAY TRISHA.

SO IF YOU COULD JUST HIT THE THREE DOTS AND REMAIN YOURSELF THAT WOULD BE GREAT -- RENAME YOURSELF, THAT WOULD BE GREAT.

>> I THINK THE OTHER ONE IS OCTAVIUS.

>> OKAY.

GREAT.

THANK YOU.

ALL RIGHT.

SO MOVING ON TO NUMBER THREE HERE WE HAVE CONTINUED TO REVIEW AND MONITOR CTE COURSE OFFERINGS AND PROVIDE DIRECTION AND ADVICE FOR EXPANDING OR ELIMINATING CTE COURSES AND HERE WE NOTE THE STEM ACADEMY APPLICATION PROCESS UPDATE.

AND THE PLANNING COMMITTEE COCHAIR AS WELL AS THE PATHWAY PATH AND COLLABORATION.

AND, AGAIN, IT'S JUST ATTRIBUTED TO ALL OF THE GOALS THAT WE HAVE IN TARGETING AND MAKING SURE THAT WE'RE KEEPING AN EYE ON THE DIFFERENT COURSE OFFERINGS AND MAKING SURE THAT IT'S WHAT THE STUDENTS -- IT'S APPLICABLE TO THE INDUSTRY, CURRENT INDUSTRY AND WHAT THE STUDENTS SHOULD BE STUDYING.

>> NUMBER FOUR, THE ANNUAL PERFORMANCE REPORT AND RECERTIFICATION TEST RESULTS AND STUDENT ENROLLMENT.

DATA TO EVALUATE TEFBTIVENESS OF CTE PROGRAMS. SO DR. JACOBS, I'LL HAND THIS ONE OVER TO YOU BECAUSE I THINK YOU KNOW -- YOU HAVE MORE CONTEXT ON THESE DIFFERENT ITEMS THAT YOU PUT HERE.

>> SO WITH COVID-19, OBVIOUSLY A LOT OF OUR INDUSTRY CREDENTIAL EXAMS ARE NOT BEING TAKING AS IN OTHER SCHOOL DIVISIONS, IT IS DOWN.

HOWEVER, WE CONTINUE TO HAVE ALL OF OUR EPF STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN THE WISE TESTING WHICH IS A VERY VALUABLE FINANCIAL LITERACY CREDENTIAL.

WE ACTUALLY HAD IT LAST YEAR DURING COVID.

WE CONTINUED IT THROUGH THE SEMESTER WITH OUR WALK SYSTEM THAT WE ARE ON NOW.

THE WORK PLACE READINESS SKILLS FOR THE COMMONWEALTH.

FOR THE PERSONAL FINANCE STUDENTS ALSO BEING TAKEN.

EVEN WITH COVID, WE ARE LEVERAGING THAT INDUSTRY CREDENTIAL TESTING WE CAN DO

[00:10:16]

ONLINE WITH OUR STUDENTS.

>> THANK YOU.

.

AND FOR LINE ITEM FIVE HERE, INCREASING THE AWARENESS OF THE CTE PROGRAMS BY EXPANDING THE OUTREACH FOR WORK BASED LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES AND PROGRAM PUBLICITY TO STAKEHOLDERS.

AND NUMBER SIX HERE CONTINUING THE PARTNERSHIP WITH THE IAB'S WE HAVE A STEM IAB HEREBY.

AND WE ALSO HAVE THAT HUMAN SERVICES AND DR. JACOBS, I'LL HAND IT OVER TO YOU TO TALK A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT THIS ONE TOO.

>> WELL, REMEMBER OUR INDUSTRY ADVISORY BOARDS ARE THE WAY IN WHICH OUR SCHOOL DIVISION IS CREATING PARTNERSHIPS FOR OUR HIGH SCHOOL PROJECT AND LEVERAGING PARTNERSHIPS IN RESOURCES OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS.

ONE REQUEST IS THAT WE INCLUDE FROM OUR ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBERS ARE PART OF THOSE BOARDS WHICH WE ARE AS A CTE ADVISORY COMMITTEE CHALLENGED WITH OVERSEEING THE PARTNERSHIPS THAT DO COME THROUGH SO THERE IS A CONNECTEDNESS AND IT'S SOMETHING THAT DAVID REMIK AS THE FORMER COMMITTEE CHAIR FOR THE CTE AND THE HEALTH ORGANIZE AND MADE SURE THAT IN OUR STRATEGIC PLAN CTE IS CONNECTED TO THESE INDUSTRY ADVISORY BOARDS THUS THE PARTNERSHIP WITH MEMBERS ON THOSE INDUSTRY ADVISORY BOARDS AS WELL AS OUR COMMITTEE.

THANK YOU.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, WE HAVE THE APPROVAL OF THE NEW LOCAL PLAN FOR THE 2122 ACADEMIC YEAR.

AND THIS ONE ESSENTIALLY HAS THE SAME STATUS.

IT WILL BE PRESENTED IN MARCH AND IT'S IN DEVELOPMENT.

RIGHT NOW.

SO WE'RE GOING TO BE LOOKING AT THAT DURING OUR MARCH MEETING.

>> ALL RIGHT.

SO ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS, COMMENTS OR CONCERNS ON OUR SCOPE OF WORK SO FAR AND HOW WE'RE TRACKING?

>> THE ONLY COMMENT I WOULD MAKE IS I'M ACTUALLY ON THE EDUCATION HUMAN SERVICES IAB AND NOT THE STEM.

>> OKAY.

THANK YOU.

>> OKAY.

SO MOVING ON BACK TO THE AGENDA THRONE.

THE NEXT ITEM UP ARE SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS FOR TODAY.

[Special Presentation]

AND THE FIRST ONE IS FROM MARY ROMAN WHO WE MENTIONED PREVIOUSLY FROM THE ROTARY CLUB TO TALK ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITIES FOR CTE STUDENTS AND GETTING SCHOLARSHIPS.

EVENTUALLY, MY RESPONSIBILITIES WERE NOT JUST IN FASHION MARKETING.

I RAN THE CO-OP PROGRAM AND PARTICIPATED IN THE COCURRICULAR ACT FIVETIES WITH MY STUDENT -- ACTIVITIES WITH MY STUDENTS BUT I ALSO ASSUMED SOME OF

[00:15:06]

THE RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE DATA REPORTING FOR CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION AND THEN TRANSITIONED INTO BECOMING A VOCATIONAL COORDINATOR FOR THE MIDDLE SCHOOL AND TC WILLIAMS HIGH SCHOOL.

THE END OF MY CAREER WAS THAT OF BEING THE VOCATIONAL DIRECTOR FOR CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION AND ADULT ED FOR THE CITY OF ALEXANDRIA.

I HAVE A DEEP ROOTS IN ALEXANDRIA AND A VERY STRONG FEELING FOR THE SCHOOL SYSTEM.

MY RELATIONSHIP WITH ROTARY CLUB BEGAN WHEN I WAS AT TC WILLIAMS HIGH SCHOOL BACK IN THE LATE 1980S.

THEY NEEDED SOMEONE AT THE ROTARY CLUB TO HELP THEIR VOCATIONAL COMMITTEE DEVELOP PROGRAMS AND LINK TC WILLIAMS HIGH SCHOOL WITH THE ROTARY CLUB.

SO I VOLUNTEERED TO UNDERTAKE THAT OPPORTUNITY A LITTLE SELFISHLY BECAUSE BEING A CO-OP COORDINATOR, I NEEDED JOB PLACEMENTS FOR MY STUDENTS AND I FIGURED THE ROTARY CLUB WOULD BE AN EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY TO FIND A FEW MORE PLACEMENTS FOR FUTURE STUDENTS IN MY CLASS.

SO AND THAT WAS HAPPENING LATE 1980S.

AND WE BROUGHT THE ROTARY CLUB IN TO WORK WITH OF COURSE THE MARKETING PROGRAM.

THEN WE EXPANDED IT TO THE BUSINESS PROGRAM.

AND ALL OF THE CAREER AND TECH ED PROGRAMS. WE HAD CAREER DAYS.

WE HAD ROTARY MEMBERS COMING IN TO BE GUEST SPARKS IN CLASSROOMS. WE EXPANDED THAT OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL CLASSROOMS, ENGLISH CLASSROOMS. I WORKED WITH ONE OF THE ENGLISH TEACHERS IN BRINGING A GUEST SPEAKER IN MONTHLY FOR HER.

AND WE HAD MENTORSHIPS.

WE HAD A TEACHER IN INDUSTRY PROGRAM THAT WE RAN.

SOP ALEXANDRIA ROTARY CLUB HAS A LONG STANDING RELATIONSHIP WITH TC WILLIAMS HIGH SCHOOL.

AND I HAVE TO SAY YOU DO HAVE TO HAVE A POINT PERSON WHO IS WILLING TO COORDINATE THOSE ACTIVITIES BECAUSE TO GET SOMEONE FROM THE OUTSIDE TO INITIATE SOMETHING LIKE THAT ON THE INSIDE CAN BE A BIT CUMBERSOME.

SO ROTARY THEN DECIDED THEY WANTED TO OFFER A SCHOLARSHIP BUT FOR CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION STUDENTS SO I HELP THEM WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF THAT, THE CRITERIA FOR THEIR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM AND W OFFERED OUR FIRST SCHOLARSHIP IN THE SPRING OF 1993.

IT WAS FOR $1,000.

TO A STUDENT WHO WAS GOING TO BE PURSUING A POST SOUTHBOUNDING DARENING OCCASION EITHER IN A PROPRITARY SCHOOL OR TRADE SCHOOL OR A -- MANY OF THE STUDENTS MOVED ON TO 2340RG9 VIRGINIA COMMUNITY -- NORTHERN VIRGINIA COMMUNITY COLLEGE BECAUSE OF THE ARTICULATION AGREEMENTS IN FORCE AT THAT TIME AND SOME STUDENTS EVEN WENT ON TO FOUR YEAR UNIVERSITIES.

SO WE'VE BEEN INVOLVED WITH CAREER AND TECH ED FOR QUITE A FEW YEARS.

SO LET ME TELL YOU A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE CRITERIA OF THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM.

WE TAR GETTED STUDENTS WHO WERE ENROLLED IN A CAREER AND TECH ED SEQUENCE AND WHO WERE CONSIDERED COMPLETERS OF A CTE SEQUENCE IN THEIR HIGH SCHOOL.

WE HAD -- WE OFFERED THIS TO ALL SCHOOLS THAT ARE IN THE ALEXANDRIA POSTAL CODE SO THAT'S TC WILLIAMS HIGH SCHOOL WEST POTOMAC MOUNT VERNON EDISON HEYFIELD HIGH SCHOOL AND PRY ANT ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL.

SO IT'S NOT JUST FOR ALEXANDRIA CITY BUT ALL OF THE SCHOOLS IN THAT POST

[00:21:15]

OFFICE BOX.

I PUT TOGETHER A LITTLE SPREADSHEET SO I CAN BE FAMILIAR WITH HOW MANY STUDENTS WERE AWARDED BUT OVER THE PAST 27 YEARS, WE AWARDED 52 STUDENTS WITH SCHOLARSHIPS THAT AMOUNTED TO OVER $88,000.

AND WE STARTED OUT WITH OUR SCHOLARSHIPS BEING A THOUSAND DOLLARS EACH THEN WE BUMPED IT UP TO 1,500 AND THEN 2,000 AND NOW WE'RE AT 2,500 FOR EACH SCHOLARSHIP AWARD.

26 OF THE RECIPIENTS OF OUR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM WERE FROM TC WILLIAMS HIGH SCHOOL.

AND ONE OF YOUR VERY OWN TECH ED TEACHERS, CYNTHIA ROBBINS WON THIS AWARD WHEN SHE WAS A TECH ED STUDENT IN 1999.

AND THIS YEAR WE HAVE THREE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS TO GO OUT.

AT $2,500 EACH.

IN ANSWER TO ONE OF YOUR QUESTIONS OF WHEN IT'S GOING TO COME OUT, LAST YEAR WAS THE FIRST YEAR I DID THE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD ELECTRONICALLY.

USING GOOGLE FORUMS AND -- GOOGLE FORMS AND IT WAS FANTASTIC.

YOU KNOW, WE WERE ABLE TO INITIALLY WE PUT OUT A PAPER COPY AND WE PULLED THAT BACK AND THEN WENT ELECTRONIC AND IT SEEMS THAT EVERYTHING KIND OF FELL INTO PLACE VERY EASILY THAT WAY.

AYE WORKED WITH STACY FOR SEVERAL YEARS.

I SEND THE -- WHEN IT WAS PAPER COPIES, I WOULD SEND THAT OFF TO HER AND SHE WOULD EITHER KEEP THOSE FILES OR PUT IT ON THEIR WEBSITE LETTING STUDENTS

[00:25:05]

KNOW ABOUT THEIR SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES.

AND THE SAME THING HAPPENS AT THE FAIRFAX COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS THAT PARTICIPATE.

THEY PUT IT ON THEIR WEBSITE AND THEN THE STUDENTS IT'S UP TO THE STUDENT TO TAKE THE INITIATIVE TO GO AND FAYETTE THE SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION PACKAGES OR NOW IT'S JUST ALL ELECTRONIC SO THEY JUST GO ON AND FILL OUT THE FORMS AND GET THE SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION INTO US AND THERE YOU GO.

SO I WOULD SAY MANY YEARS EARLY ON WHEN I WAS STILL WORKING AT TC WILLIAMS OF COURSE I WOULD PHYSICALLY SEND ALL OF THE APPLICATION PACKAGES TO ALL THE TC TEACHERS AND I WOULD ALSO NICKY ASSUMED A LOT OF THOSE RESPONSIBILITIES AFTER I MOVED ON AND SHE WOULD SEND THAT INFORMATION TO THE TEACHERS FOR THE TEACHERS TO SHARE WITH THE STUDENTS.

SO LAST YEAR MIGHT HAVE BEEN A LITTLE MORE DIFFICULT.

WE HAD A REAL DECREASE, I WOULD SAY A SIGNIFICANT DECREASE IN THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS THAT WE RECEIVED.

BECAUSE THERE WAS SUCH CONFUSION WITH WHAT WAS GOING ON AT THE END OF THAT SCHOOL YEAR.

ONE PERSON I COORDINATED WITH WAS THAT STATEMENT OF CAREER OBJECT I.

MANY STUDENTS SEND US THE COLLEGE ESSAY AND THAT DOES NOT NECESSARILY TALK ABOUT WHAT A CAREER OBJECTIVE SO I THINK THEY'RE DOING ACROSS THE BOARD THE COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER PEOPLE ARE DOING A MUCH BETTER JOB IN ADVISING STUDENTS ABOUT HOW TO WRITE THAT ESSAY AND GETTING IT IN TO US.

>> THANK YOU.

>> ALLAN, DOES THAT COVER THE QUESTIONS THAT YOU HAD? AWESOME.

>> YOU SAID FEBRUARY 1ST THROUGH APRIL?

>> APRIL -- IT'S A FRIDAY.

I CAN'T REMEMBER IF THAT'S THE 23RD OR 25TH.

I DON'T HAVE THAT IN FRONT OF ME.

>> OKAY.

THAT FRIDAY THOUGH.

>> YES.

>> THANK YOU.

>> 23RD.

>> THANK YOU SO MUCH, MARY >> YOU ARE WELCOME.

>> THANK YOU FOR BRINGING ME IN.

>> ALL RIGHT.

OKAY.

SO MOVING ON TO THE NEXT ITEM ON OUR AGENERAL DPI, WE HAVE THE ACCESS AND EQUITY OF CTE COURSES.

[00:30:05]

HI, EVERYONE, I'M JESSICA FUNDALINSKI.

I SUPPORT TEACHERS AND ADMINISTRATORS WITH INSTRUCTIONAL PRACTICES FOR ENGLISH LEARNERS.

I CAN STATE BRIEFLY A LITTLE BIT ABOUT OUR POPULATION.

ENGLISH LEARNERS COMPRISE ABOUT 30% OF OUR TOTAL POPULATION.

I WAS INVITED TO GIVE A SHORT PRESENTATION FOR CTE TEACHERS AT ONE OF THE MIDDLE SCHOOLS A FEW WEEKS AGO.

THE GOAL WAS TWOFOLD.

IT WAS TO INTRODUCE TEACHERS TO OUR ENGLISH LEARNER BEST PRACTICES WHICH ARE BEST INSTRUCTIONAL PRACTICES FOR ENGLISH LEARNERS.

THEY'RE ESSENTIAL IN ORDER FOR STUDENTS TO ACCESS CONTENT.

BUT ALSO THEY'RE GOOD PRACTICES FOR ALL OF OUR STUDENTS.

THEY BENEFIT EVENLY.

THE SECOND WAS TO INTRODUCE A PROCESS FOR THINKING ABOUT VOCABULARY INSTRUCTION SO THIS WAS SOMETHING THAT WAS REQUESTED SPECIFICALLY BY AN ADMINISTRATOR AS AN AREA OF FOCUS.

SO I INTRODUCE THE TEAM TO A VERY TRUNCATED VERSION OF A CHAPTER IN A FANTASTIC BOOK CALLED UNLOCKING ENGLISH LEARNER POTENTIAL.

AND THE CHAPTER AND WHAT I PRESENT WENT THROUGH A PROCESS OF DEVELOPING ACADEMIC LANGUAGE DURING INSTRUCTION.

SO JUST TO BE BRIEF ABOUT THIS SORT OF PRESENTATION AND WHAT WE WENT THROUGH, WE WERE THINKING ABOUT TWO MAJOR IDEAS WITH ACADEMIC LANGUAGE INSTRUCTION OR ACADEMIC VOCABULARY INSTRUCTION WHICH IS THAT ACADEMIC VOCABULARY MUST BE INTENTIONALLY TAUGHT.

THE WORDS THAT WE CHOOSE HAVE TO BE FOCUSED AND INTENTIONAL.

AND INTENSIVELY TAUGHT OVER THE FIRST SEVERAL DAYS SO IT'S NOT LIKE A HEY HERE'S YOUR WORDS, INTRODUCE THEM ONCE.

I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO CONTINUING THIS WORK TO SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS AND WORK WITH THE CTE TEACHERS.

THAT IS MY BRIEF PRESENTATION SO THANK YOU.

>> I AM HAPPY TO TAKE QUESTIONS IF YOU HAVE ANY.

>> I DO WANT TO JUST MENTION THAT JESSICA IS ON OUR CTE ADVISORY COMMITTEE AND SHE FEELS A VERY IMPORTANT -- FILLS A VERY IMPORTANT PART WITHIN OUR COMMITTEE.

PROBLEMS TEACHERS WERE HAVING WITH SOME OF THE VIRTUAL RESOURCES WE HAVE AND SOME OF THE INSTRUCTIONAL METHODS.

LET'S REMEMBER CTE IS HANDS ON PROJECT BASED LEARNING AND NOW THAT WE'RE VIRTUAL IT IS A WAY DIFFERENT INSTRUCTIONAL METHODOLOGY THAT THEY'RE USING.

THEY WERE HAVING THE MOST DIFFICULTY WITH SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS AND WITH EL STUDENTS.

SO BEING ABLE TO REACH OUT TO PEOPLE LIKE JESSICA RIGHT ON OUR OWN COMMITTEE WHERE WE HAVE THAT RESOURCE TO VERY QUICKLY JUMP INTO ACTION AND PRESENTED TO THE TEACHERS AND EXPLAINED HOW THEY COULD UTILIZE SOME OF THE RESOURCES THEY HAVE

[00:35:02]

WITH CTE WITH SIMULATION MODELING AND THE DESIGN PROCESS.

THANK YOU.

IF THERE ARE NO QUESTIONS FOR JESSICA, WE'LL MOVE INTO THE NEW BUSINESS

[New Business]

SECTION OF THE AGENDA.

WE'LL HEAR FROM ALEX WITH ANOTHER REGIONAL WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT UPDATE.

>> WHENEVER YOU'RE READY.

>> SURE.

GOOD AFTERNOON, EVERYONE.

JUST WANTED TO SHARE LITTLE BIT OF DATA.

RESTAURANTS, HOTELS, HOSPITALITY, PERSONAL CARE SERVICES LIKE YOUR BEAUTY SHOPS AND NAIL SALONS AND THOSE KIND OF SERVICES THAT ARE KIND OF ENGAGING WITH PEOPLE.

IN TERMS OF OUR GOVERNMENT CONTRACTING AND BUSINESS, THOSE ARE STABLE.

SO WE'RE NOT SEEING GROWTH THERE NECESSARILY BUT WE HAVEN'T HAD JOB LOSSES.

SO, AGAIN, HAVING TO ALWAYS ANSWER DATA QUESTIONS, THE BURNING QUESTION, AGAIN, WE UPDATE RESOURCES ON OUR WEBSITE SO FEEL FREE TO CHECK THOSE OUT.

>> THANK YOU SO MUCH, AL ELECTS.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS FOR ALEX BEFORE WE MOVE ON? ALL RIGHT.

THANK YOU.

SO THE NEXT ITEM IS THE GOVERNOR STEM ACADEMY.

WE'RE GOING TO HAVE JIM TALK TO US ABOUT THAT.

>> JIM, YOU'RE MUTED.

>> HAD TO STOP SHARING IN ORDER TO UNMUTE MYSELF.

OKAY.

I GOT TOO FAR AHEAD OF MYSELF.

HERE WE GO.

THE COURT: ED TO TALK ABOUT IF GOVERNOR'S STEM ACADEMY PROCESSES.

I'M A PROFESSOR OF ENGINEERING EDUCATION BUT ALSO NATURAL RESOURCES AT VIRGINIA TECH AND I WAS TALKING WITH TRISHA ALMOST A YEAR AGO ABOUT SOME IDEAS FOR ENERGY COURSES AND WE STARTED BRAINSTORMING OVER THE SUMMER.

IT ACTUALLY LED TO WHAT HAS BECOME ALMOST A WEEKLY PLANNING MEETING NOW AND

[00:40:05]

INCREASINGLY DR. JACOBS HAS INVITED MANY OF OUR COLLEAGUES TO THE PROCESS AND IT'S TURNED INTO SOMETHING WITH GREAT MOMENTUM UM.

WE'VE ACTUALLY HAD PRELIMINARY TALKS WITH DEPARTMENT OF ED FOLKS TO GET SOME STEERING.

LIKE ANY GOVERNOR STEM ACADEMY IT'S FUNCTIONALLY A SCHOOL WITHIN A SCHOOL BUT IN THE CASE OF ACPS IT WOULD PROBABLY BE ACTUALLY LABS TEACHERS STUDENTS AND PROGRAMS SPREAD ACROSS SCHOOLS AND MAYBE EVEN VERY LIKELY BEGINNING DOWN IN THE MIDDLE SCHOOLS.

IT'S LOTS OF ON AND OFF RAMPS AND INTERSECTIONS WHERE YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR MIND.

YOU CAN EVOLVE YOUR SKILLS ET CETERA.

AND WE BELIEVE THIS IS REALLY WHAT'S BEST FOR STUDENTS.

IT'S ALSO DESIGNED TO INTEGRATE THE NEW MATH PATHWAYS INITIATIVE.

I THINK IT'S MAYBE ONE OF THE COOLEST THINGS ABOUT THIS.

IT'S THE BIG REASON THAT VIRGINIA TECH IS WANTING TO BE INVOLVED.

THIS STUDENT TO TEACH KIDS IN WAYS THAT PREPARE THEM BOTH ACADEMICALLY AND WITH AN ORIENTATION TO SUCCESS IN THE WORK PLACE.

IT MEANS IN THE NEW LOCATION WE COULD MOVE PATHWAYS AROUND.

NOT NESSLY ACADEMIES AROUND OR THAT THE STEM ACADEMY WILL ONLY BE AT THE NEW LOCATION.

IT MEANS THAT WE HAVE THAT FLEXIBILITY OF MOVE LING PATHWAYS AND MATCHING THEM UP WITH THE MATH, SCIENCE, ART, THE SOCIAL STUDIES, TYPES OF ENGLISH COURSES THEY WOULD TAKE SO THAT WE COULD BUILD OUT REAL PLANS OF STUDY BASED ON PATHWAY CAREER PATHWAYS AROUND THOSE CLUSTERS.

WE NEED TO START IN THE MIDDLE SCHOOLS.

OUR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS ARE WELL ON THE WAY WITH STEM AND STEAM AND CHILDRENS ENGINEERING.

WE NEED TO BEEF UP SOME OF THE ELECTIVES AND INTERDISCIPLINARY TYPE COURSES THAT WE COULD PUT TOGETHER WE ARE PART OF THE PLANNING FOR THE STEM ACADEMY.

>> THANK YOU, DR. JACOBS.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? OKAY.

MOVING ON TO THE NEXT ITEM.

DR. JACOBS IS GOING TO TALK TO US ABOUT THE PERKINS GRANT AND THE FUNDING DEVELOPMENT UPDATE.

>> BECAUSE OF I'M I'M GOING TO KEEP THIS VERY SIMPLE.

AT THIS POINT IN THE PER KENS APPLICATION PROCESS I'M ACQUIRING THE NEEDED DATA TO PUT INTO THE APPLICATION.

I'M REVIEWING THE USAGE REPORTS OF OUR CURRENT VENDORS MORE SPECIFICALLY THE ONLINE RESOURCES WE NOW HAVE ACQUIRED TO SEE IF IT WILL BE A CONTINUED ADDITION ALONG WITH THE EQUIPMENT NEEDS THAT WE HAVE WITHIN OUR PROGRAM AREAS.

WITH ARE LOOK -- WE ARE LOOKING AT THE CONSTRUCTION PATHWAY BEING ROLLED OUT STARTING WITH OUR TECHNICAL DRAWING AND DESIGN COURSE.

I WANT TO WITH ABLE TO SEND IT OUT EARLIER THIS YEAR.

COVID KIND OF GOT IN THE WAY AND FIRST DOING IT LAST YEAR IT WAS VERY PUSHED THROUGH

[00:45:13]

AND I WANT TO BE ABLE TO EXPLAIN IT MORE TO YOU BEFORE IT ACTUALLY GOES TO THE BOARD FOR APPROVAL AND THEN INTO THE STATE.

BUT RIGHT NOW THE USAGE REPORTS THAT WE HAVE I ALSO HAVE TO USE PERKINS MONEY TO BUY THE COMPUTERS FOR OUR LABS.

THAT IS NOT ON THE SCHOOL DIVISION CONTRAST.

SO A HUGE PART OF OUR BUDGET IS FOR THE COMPUTERS AND I HAVE AN INDUSTRY ADVISORY PARTNER THROUGH THE GOVERNMENT AND BUSINESS IAB THAT IS WILLING TO MAYBE GIVE US SOME COMPUTERS THAT MIGHT BRING DOWN THAT BUDGET ITEM BUT I'M GOING TO TELL YOU IT'S OVER ONE-THIRD OF OUR BUDGETS IS FOR JUST THE COMMUTER ROTATION THAT'S NEEDED WITHIN OUR SCHOOL DIVISION.

IT'S A HUGE PART OF OUR BUDGET.

MORE TO COME IN MARCH.

>> THANK YOU, DR. JACOBS.

SO AGAIN IN THE INTEREST OF TIME, MOVING ON TO THE NEXT ITEM HERE.

FUTURE MEETING FORMAT AND TOPICS.

[00:50:50]

WANTED TO TALK MORE ABOUT OUR FUTURE MEETING FORMAT.

WHETHER OR NOT YOU ALL ARE OKAY WITH THE FORMATS, IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS ABOUT THE TOPICS THAT WE'RE DISCUSSING ABOUT SOME OF THE THINGS THAT WE MAY OR MAY NOT BE MAKING DECISIONS ON.

WE JUST WANT TO GET MORE FEEDBACK FROM YOU ALL TO MAKE SURE THAT THE CONTENT OF THESE MEETINGS ARE APPROPRIATE, ARE THINGS THAT WE ALL CARE ABOUT.

THERE'S SO MUCH INFORMATION THAT I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE IN TERMS OF WHAT'S GOING ON THAT I DON'T KNOW WITH ACPS AND CTE AND ALL THAT AND WITH THAT BEING SAID, ONE OF THE OTHER THINGS THAT I WAS THINKING ABOUT IS -- JUST LOOKING FOR YOUR FEEDBACK AND ALSO RECOGNIZING THAT WE'RE ABOUT FIVE MINUTES AWAY FROM THE POTENTIAL ENDING OF OUR MEETING SO JUST WANTED TO MENTION THAT HERE.

I'LL TALK TO DR. JACOBS ABOUT MAYBE PUTTING THIS ON OUR AGENDA AGAIN BUT ALLAN,

I THINK YOU HAVE -- >> YEAH.

THE ONE THICK I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT IN ONE OF OUR FUTURE MEETINGS IS HOW IS SOCIAL EMOTIONAL ACADEMIC LEARNING BEING ANTE GRATEDED INTO CTE AND AS CHAIR OF THE PARTNERSHIP FOR HEALTH OF ALEXANDRIA WE'R CONCERNED ABOUT THE MENTAL HEALTH OF THE CHILDREN PARTICULARLY DURING THIS TIME PERIOD AND WE'RE WONDERING WHAT'S GOING ON PARTICULARLY INSIDE OF CTE PROGRAMS TO MAKE SURE THAT OUR STUDENTS ARE GETTING THE NEEDS AADDRESSED MENTALLY AND EMOTIONALLY OR IF NOT WHAT CAN WE DO TO FOCUS ON THAT BOTH NOW AND INTO THE FUTURE AS WELL, YOUS EVERYBODY IS BACK IN THE CLASSROOM.

THANK YOU.

I'LL NOTE THAT IN HERE IF THE >> THANK YOU.

ANY OTHER QUICK COMMENTS OR UPDATES OR INPUTS RATHER? OKAY.

SO I'LL TALK TO DR. JACOBS ABOUT CREATING ROOM FOR THAT ON OUR NEXT AGENDA AS WELL AS OPENING IT UP FOR OTHER TOPICS AND DISCUSSIONS.

>> THE FIRST ONE IS THE VIRTUAL PLUS PLAN FOR REENTRY.

[Announcements by Members]

>> LET ME JUST SHARE THE SCREEN HERE.

ON OUR SCHOOL DIVISION WEBSITE UNDER PHASED REENTRY IF YOU GO TO THE FIRST OPENING PAGE YOU'LL SEE THAT THEY UPDATE THIS EVERY COUPLE OF DAYS AND IT HAS WHAT THE RISK FACTORS ARE.

IF YOU GO TO THE REVISED TIMELINE HERE, YOU CAN SEE THE TENTATIVE DATE HAS BEEN

[00:55:03]

TO BE DETERMINED FOR STUDENTS RETURNING TO SCHOOL.

THE BIG DATE FOR US IN THE CTE AREA IS RIGHT NOW AT THE FEBRUARY 16TH WHERE IT SAYS ALL REMAINING STUDENTS IN PRE-K THROUGH 12 INCLUDING ADULT EDUCATION.

SO WHAT WE'RE DOING IS WE'RE READYING TO DEVICE A PLAN WHERE STUDENTS CAN SOCIAL DISTANCE AS WELL AS THEIR USE OF TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT AND MACHINE PROTOCOL THAT THEY'RE GOING TO USE FOR THE SAFETY AND CLEANING OF THOSE ITEMS. WE'VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THE SOFTWARE THAT THEY'RE USING.

THE SIMULATION SOFTWARE WILL STILL BE USED IN THIS CONCURRENT TEACHING MODEL THAT THEY'RE GOING TO HAVE.

THEY'RE GOING TO HAVE AN AABB DAY WHERE SOME OF THE SFUNTS WILL BE THERE ON A DAY.

SOME ON B DAY.

AND SOME STUDENTS HAVE OPTED NOT TO COME BACK AT ALL.

STUDENTS CAN TAKE A CONSUMABLE KIT HOME WITH THEM AND BRING THEM BACK AND FORTH OR STUDENTS OPTING NOT TO COME BACK TO THE CLASSROOM TO THE SCHOOL SETTING THEY WOULD ALSO HAVE THAT OPTION OF PICKING THOSE KITS UP SO THEY WILL HAVE SOME TYPE OF HANDS ON ACTIVITY TO DO AT HOME.

RIGHT KNEW THE TARGET DATE IS THE 14TH FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS WHO HAVE OPTED TO RETURN BUT THIS IS A WEBSITE THAT PART OF OUR SCHOOL WEBSITE THAT YOU CAN GO TO AND LOOK AT THE DIFFERENT PHASES OF THE STUDENTS AS WELL AS WHAT THE VIR DHOLL PLUS OVERVIEW IS 29 A USEFUL PART OF OUR WEBSITE.

OKAY.

NOW AN ANOUNMENT ON THE GO VA GRANT -- >> THIS IS WHERE LINDA MIGHT BE ABLE TO GIVE US A QUICK OVERVIEW.

>>.

>> IF I CAN FIND MY BUTTONS.

I'M HERE.

I JUST HAD TO FIND THE RIGHT SPOT.

BACK IN SEPTEMBER WE WERE AWARDED $700,000 IN GO VIRGINIA WITH A GO VIRGINIA GRANT WHICH IS GOVERNOR FUNDING FOR ECONOMIC RESILIENCE.

WE PARTNERED WITH A NUMBER OF ORGANIZATIONS DAVID REMEMBERICS ORGANIZATION AS WELL AS ACPS AND A NUMBER OF OTHER PARTNERS WHO JOINED US IN LETTERS OF SUPPORT.

WE JUST SIGNED AN AGREEMENT ON DECEMBER 27TH WITH THE STATE OF VISUAL VISUAL AND THE FUNDING IS GETTING RELEASED, WE HOPE, NEXT MONDAY.

SO IT'S KIND OF A PROCESS.

WE'RE GOING TO BE USING THESE FUNDS TO CREATE AN IMMEMBERS OF THE SENATIVE LEARNING CENTER WHERE IT WILL BE A DRY AND WET LAB WITH AN EMPHASIS ON AUGMENTED AND VIRTUAL REALITY SO WE WITH HAVE A NUMBER OF GAMING ACTIVITIES

[01:00:06]

THAT THE STUDENTS WILL DO.

ACT AT THISTIES THAT RUN THE COURSE OF A YEAR LEARNING MODULES THAT ARE BEING BUILT OUT BUT ALSO THAT THEY DON'T JUST GO WHORE SONTDAL BUT ALSO VERTICAL IN THE SENSE THROUGH NINTH TENTH LEVENTS 12TH GRADE SO WE'RE WORKING ON BUILDING OUT THE CURRICULUM.

WE HAVE A TASK FORCE THAT HAS ALREADY MET ONCE.

THEY'RE MEETING AGAIN QUARTER 1.

WE MEET ONCE A QUARTER.

AND WE HAVE EIGHT SUPPORTING GROUPS.

WE HAVE 51 MEMBER AND EIGHT WORKING GROUPS IN ADVANCEMENT AND SPONSORSHIP SO WE'RE LOOKING FOR COOPERATE SPONSORS.

THIS IS A VERY -- CORPORATE SPONSORS.

THIS IS A VERY EXPENSIVE ENDEAVOR.

GRANT MONEY IS SEED MONEY TO BEGIN THIS ENDEAVOR AND WE NEED TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO MOVE IT FORWARD FROM THE TECHNOLOGY PERSPECTIVE AS WELL AS THE RUNNING OF THE UNIT.

GW IS WORKING WITH US, OUR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT TEAM IS WORKING WITH US AND WE'RE PUTTING TOGETHER A CORPORATE GIVING PACKAGE.

COMMUNITY ENGAMEMENT AND EVENTS WE ARE HOPING TO HAVE A RIBBON CUTTING EVENT INVITING THE GOVERNOR TO COME BACK IN SEPTEMBER AS HE IS LEIGHING OFFICE.

WE WANT TO HONOR HIM AND ALSO HAVE HIM COME BACK TO THE GOVERNOR'S ACADEMY WHICH HE KICKED OFF A FEW YEARS AGO SO WE'RE EXCITED TO BE INVITING THE GOVERNOR AND A NUMBER OF OUR REPRESENTATIVES BACK FOR THAT.

SO THAT'S OUR FIRST EVENT WE'RE WORKING ON.

OUR CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT.

WE'RE WORKING ON LEARNING MODULES 289 WE'RE WORKING WITH EXPERTS IN THE FIELD OF ARVR AND OF COURSE WE ARE WORKING WITH SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS IN OUR TEACHERS AND FACULTY ARE ENGAGED WITH THAT.

WE HAVE GUIDED PATHWAYS, OUR ROAD MAPS THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL THAT CONTINUE SEAMLESS THROE THE WORKFORCE TWO YEAR AND FOUR YEAR EDUCATION.

INDUSTRY WORKFORCE PARTNERS WE'RE BUILDING UP OUR PARTNERS WITH OUR INDUSTRY AND BUSINESS PARTNERS IF THE TO WORK WITH THEM THROUGHOUT HIGH SCHOOL HELPING THEM ENGAGE AND NETWORK IN THEIR AREAS OF INTEREST, HELP THEM WITH LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION, INTERNSHIPS, ALL SORTS OF OPPORTUNITIES.

OUR MOBILE UNIT BUILD OUT THIS THE IS A MOBILE UNIT.

I'LL STOP THERE.

WE ARE WAY OVER TIME.

THANK YOU.

>> THANK YOU SO MUCH.

SO LAST TWO HERE IN THE I THINK THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY STEM COMPETITIVE TEAM GRANT.

>> YES.

THESE ARE GO GRANTS -- TWO GRANTS THAT THE CTE DEPARTMENT HAS ACQUIRED.

[01:05:39]

THE STEM COMPETITION TEAM GRANT IS THE SECOND ONE FOR ACPS AND CTE TEACHER AT GW MIDDLE SCHOOL IS GOING TO USE THAT $5,000 TO BEGIN AN UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEM COMPETITION TEAM WITH MIDDLE SCHOOLERS SO WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT THAT.

ALSO, CTE HAS PARTNERED WITH TC WILLIAMS, KELLY DAVIS ACADEMY ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL IS ON THE CALL HERE WITH US.

OUR IAB, OUR STAND BY THAT WORK AS MENTORS, PROVIDE EXTERNSHIPS AND INTERNSHIPS AND THAT WILL LEAD TO POSSIBLE TRAINING PROGRAMS AND EMPLOYMENT ONCE THEY GRADUATE.

IF WE CAN'T GET THEM ON TRACK FOR THE MILITARY, TRAINING PROGRAMS, TWO YEAR OR FOUR YEAR COLLEGES.

SO WE'RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT BEING PART OF THIS PROGRAM.

TC WILLIAMS WAS A PART OF IT ABOUT 15 YEARS AGO.

AND IT SORLT OF DIED OFF SO WE'RE BACK IN AGAIN AND WE'RE REALLY EXCITED FOR THE 25 STUDENTS THAT WILL BE CHOSEN.

SHOUTOUT TO MS. DAVIS OVER THERE.

>> GREAT NEWS.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

CONGRATULATIONS.

ALL RIGHT.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS? FROM MEMBERS?

>> EVERYONE IF I HAVEN'T MET YOU I'M MICHELLE RIEFF.

I WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I THINK SINCE OUR LAST MEETING THE SCHOOL BOARD VOTED TO RENAME TC WILLIAMS HIGH SCHOOL AND SO WE HAD AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE STUDENTS TO FIRST BE THE FIRST TO SUGGEST NAMES AND WE ARE 2340U HAVING A POOL FOR THE COMMUNITY THAT IS OPEN.

IT CLOSES TOMORROW AT MIDNIGHT.

I WANTED TO GIVE YOU ALL THE CHANCE TO VOTE IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IF YOU GO TO THE ACPS WEBSITE AND SERENELY FOR THE IDENTITY PROJECT, THAT'S WHERE YOU WILL SEE WHERE WE'RE RENAMING TC WILLIAMS HIGH SCHOOL AS WELL AS MOREERY ELEMENTARY.

SO YOU CAN VIEW SUBMISSIONS THAT STUDENTS HAVE SUBMITTED AND VOTE ON ONE OF THEIR NAMES AND ALSO RECOMMEND ANOTHER NAME.

THESE ARE NARROWED TO SIX FINALISTS AND THE COMMUNITY WILL HAVE A CHANCE TO WEIGH IN AT THAT TIME.

AND THE OTHER THING I WANTED TO MENTION IS FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL PROJECT WE'RE DOING A REBUILD OF A MINI HOWARD CAMPUS AND RIGHT NOW, WE'RE COMING TO THE DESIGN PHASE AND WE ARE TALKING ABOUT LOCATIONS.

ONE OF THE THINGS THAT IS ON THE LIST OF POTENTIAL THINGS TO POSSIBLY BE ON THE

[01:10:02]

SITE WITH THE NEW SCHOOL BUILDING IS WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT IN SCHOOLS AND I WAS CURIOUS TO HEAR IF DR. JACOBS IF YOU'VE BEEN I DON'T KNOW IF YOU'VE BEEN APPROACHED ABOUT THAT AT ALL.

NEXT -- THERE WAS SOME INTEREST IN EXPLORING THE POSSIBILITY OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING ON THIS SITE AND, YOU KNOW, WE HAD A WORK SESSION LAST WEEKEND I WOULD SAY THAT WE FEEL LIKE THERE ARE A LOT OF OTHER NEEDS THAT WE HAVE THAT WOULD BE PRIORITIES OVER THAT AND SO WE DO HAVE TO VOTE ON THA PARTICULAR ISSUE OF HOUSING NEXT THURSDAY BUT IN THE MONTHS AHEAD WE'RE GOING TO BE DETERMINING WHAT OTHER SERVICES MAY BE ON THAT SITE.

I WAS JUST CURIOUS IF YOU'VE BEEN INVOLVED IN THE CONVERSATIONS AT ALL OR IF YOU HAD ANY THOUGHTS ON THAT.

I KNOW YOU'RE ON THE EDT AS WELL.

PLOP.

>> AS FAR AS WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP, THAT WAS I THINK ACTUALLY BROUGHT UP I THINK AS SOON AS I CAME IN ONTO THE TEAM THAT SUMMER WE TALKED ABOUT THAT POSSIBILITY.

IT GOES TOGETHER SO WELL WITH OUR INDUSTRY ADVISORY BOARD AND PARTNERSHIP EFFORTS REALLY HAVING THAT WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PIECE FOR OUR STUDENTS WITH WORK BASED LEARNING RIGHT WITH A PATHWAY WOULD BE JUST AN ABSOLUTE FANTASTIC BENEFIT FOR OUR STUDENTS.

CAN YOU GUYS SEE THIS?

>> SO THIS IS A SLIDE THAT WE HAVE BEEN USING IN OUR REGULAR OUTREACH MEETINGS AND ACTUALLY IN OUR DISCUSSION WITH KAY AT THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES SHE'S INCLUDED WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT IN SCHOOLS WHICH IS PART OF THE COLOCATION STUDENTS THERE AND ACTUALLY WE HAVE A MEETING WITH THEM ON FRIDAY TO CONFIRM THEIR SPACE REQUIREMENTS AND HOW THEY CAN WORK.

A LOT OF THEIR REQUIREMENTS ARE KIND OF TOUCH DOWNS BASICALLY.
