THAT IS AS REALLY IDENTIFYING THE NEW NAMES FOR BOTH TC WILLIAMS HIGH SCHOOL AND MATTHEW MORE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. A PART OF THE SECOND PHASE IS TO MAKE SURE THAT AS WERE SELECTING THESE NEW NAMES THAT IT WAS DESIGNED TO ENSURE WE HAVE OUR STUDENTS AND STAFF MEMBERS, OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS, OUR ALUMNI'S AND FAMILIES A BALL AS OUR COMMUNITY AT LARGE THAT THEY HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO REALLY BE HEARD AND MORE IMPORTANTLY WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT OUR STUDENTS HAD A VOICE THROUGHOUT THIS PROCESS. AS WELL AS OUR NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS AND LEARNERS IN OUR COMMUNITY. AND TO ASSIST OF COURSE YO ALL KNOW THIS. WE HAD OUR STUDENTS SUBMIT ENTRIES FOR OUR SAM POSTER CAMPAIGN. WE WERE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THE FACT THAT OUR KIDS WERE SO EXCITED AND SO ENGAGED IN THIS WORK. I'M HAPPY TO SHARE WITH YOU WE HAD 119 STUDENT ENTRIES REPRESENTING 50 DIFFERENT NAME SUGGESTIONS FOR TC WILLIAMS HIGH SCHOOL. WE HAD 29 DIFFERENT NAME SUGGESTIONS FOR MATTHEW MAURY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. THESE SUGGESTIONS THEY'VE ALREADY BEEN POSTED TO OUR WEBSITE FOR OUR COMMUNITY TO CONSIDER. BRAND COMMUNITY MEMBERS AS WELL AS HER STUDENTS AND ADD ADDITIONAL SUGGESTIONS. A COMMUNITY SUGGESTION POLL IS STILL OPEN AND IT WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL JANUARY 27. IF YOU KNOW ANYBODY OUT THERE THAT HAS A BRIGHT IDEA AND HEY, WE'VE GOT A LOT OF NAMES FROM YESTERDAY'S EVENTS. IT'S AMAZING WHAT CAME OUT ABOUT. GO ONLINE A POSTOP. WE REALLY WANT TO ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO ENCOURAGE. IF YOU TALK TO YOUR CONSTITUENTS IN THE COMMUNITY IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. TO DATE WE HAVE RECEIVED 10,235 LEGITIMATE ENTRIES. WITH 86 DIFFERENT NAME SUGGESTIONS FOR TC WILLIAMS. THAT'S 10,235. THAT'S A WHOLE LOT, THESE ARE LEGITIMATE ENTRIES. WAS A LOT OF OTHER ENTRIES THAT CAME IN. THESE ARE LEGITIMATE ENTRIES THAT ARE COMMON. BUT 1842 LEGITIMATE ENTRIES WITH 59 SUGGESTED NAMES FOR MATTHEW MAURY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. OUR GOAL NOW IS TO NARROW DOWN THE NAMES FOR THE SECOND POLE AND THAT'S TO HELP US PRIORITIZE THE NOMINATIONS FROM OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY. WE WANT TO MAKE SURE WERE MAKING DECISIONS BASED ON FEEDBACK FROM OUR COMMUNITY, NOT FROM PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD ON WHAT SCHOOLS WILL BE IN OUR CITY OF ALEXANDRIA. WE WANT TO SHOW PRIORITY TO OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY ESPECIALLY OUR STUDENTS AND OUR FAMILIES. THE SECOND POLE LAUNCHES ON FEBRUARY 3. THAT'S TO GET US CLOSER TO A NAME.
